Tamil Nadu government announces IAS officers reshuffle across key departments

Synopsis: K. Nanthakumar, IAS, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), replacing T. Christuraj, IAS. He was previously serving as Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday, 12 May, announced a fresh round of IAS officer transfers and postings affecting several key departments, including Finance, Revenue Administration, Tourism and TASMAC.

According to an official notification, N. Muruganandam, who has returned from leave, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management. He replaces P. Amudha, who had been holding additional charge of the post.

In another significant reshuffle, M. A. Siddique, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department. He succeeds T. Udhayachandran.

The government also transferred S. Swarna, who had been serving as Principal Secretary and State Project Director of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). She has now been appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department. She replaces K. Manivasan, who had been holding additional charge.

Further K. Nanthakumar, IAS, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), replacing T. Christuraj, IAS. He was previously serving as Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
