Synopsis: ED conducted raids at over 10 locations across Chennai, reportedly linked to KN Ravichandran, brother of Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru over alleged money laundering and Goods and Service Tax (GST) evasion.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at over 10 locations across Chennai on Monday, 7 April, including areas such as Adyar, Teynampet, CIT Colony, and MRC Nagar, reportedly linked to KN Ravichandran, brother of Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru.
Officials are also targeting properties associated with True Value Homes (TVH) as part of the operation.
One of the locations being searched is the Vaidhyanathan apartment complex, located on 4th Cross Street in Gandhi Nagar of Adyar.
In Trichy, ED officials are conducting raids at the residences of Nehru and his late brother Ramajayam. The raids are reportedly connected to large financial transactions in the bank account of TVH, the company associated with Nehru’s brother, alleged alleged money laundering and Goods and Service Tax (GST) evasion.
Following the raids, DMK supporters gathered outside Nehru’s residence, leading to commotion.
Police were deployed to manage the situation, setting up barricades on both sides of the road and diverting traffic. DMK supporters attempted to stage a protest by waving black flags, resulting in a confrontation with the police, who urged them to disperse.
The situation has caused a stir in the area.
India Today reported that the raids were reportedly in connection with a ₹22 crore bank fraud case, which was registered based on a complaint by Indian Overseas Bank against Truedom EPC Limited. Nehru’s brother Ravichandran is a director with Truedom EPC Limited.
