The BJP’s Booth Committee conference in Tirunelveli on Friday, 22 August, turned into a show of strength for the AIADMK-BJP alliance, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in attendance alongside senior leaders.
Speaking at the event, BJP MLA Nainar Nagendran asserted that the AIADMK-BJP alliance will decisively win the upcoming elections.
“Some people have started new parties with glamour, but the real fight will be between the DMK and the AIADMK-BJP alliance. The DMK criticises our alliance now, but did it not look opportunistic when the DMK itself was allied with the BJP in the past?” Nagendran asked.
BJP Tamil Nadu leader K Annamalai echoed the message, declaring it the alliance’s duty to bring AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) back to power.
“It is the responsibility of NDA cadre to ensure that EPS becomes the Chief Minister again. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin fears everything — he is a leader who is constantly afraid,” Annamalai said.
Highlighting the BJP’s contribution to Tamil Nadu, he added: “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Union government has brought pride to Tamil Nadu. The elevation of C.P. Radhakrishnan as Vice-President is a matter of honour for our state.”
Setting the tone for the next Assembly elections, Annamalai told party workers: “We must ensure that in 2026 the NDA wins and brings its government to Tamil Nadu.”
