Actor Vijay and the team behind his latest outing, GOAT, visited the late actor-politician ‘Captain’ Vijayakanth’s residence and thanked his wife for allowing to use an AI-generated avatar of the deceased leader in the movie.
Vijayakanth’s wife and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) general secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth welcomed the team that included Venkat Prabhu, the director of the Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
The visit came ahead of Vijay, 50, unveiling the flag of his party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, on Thursday, 22 August.
The makers of GOAT have recreated Vijayakanth using artificial intelligence.
Besides Vijay, the movie has Sneha, and Meenakshi Chaudhary in the lead roles, along with Prashanth, Mohan, Prabhu Deva, Yogi Babu, Jayaram, Laila, and many others. Produced by Archana Kalpathi, Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for the sci-fi action thriller.
The film has been scheduled for a 5 September release, and its trailer was launched on 17 August.
Premalatha in an earlier interview said that Venkat Prabhu had sought her permission to use the AI-avatar of Vijayakanth in the movie. She responded positively to the request.
