Three men trying to transport nearly ₹4 crore in cash from Chennai to Tirunelveli by train were arrested at the Thambaram railway station. They were found carrying ₹3.90 crore in the denomination of 500. The arrested S Sathish, a BJP membership cardholder, S Navin, and S Perumal, were stated to be the supporters of BJP candidate Nainar Nagendran in Tirunelveli.
