Sriramulu Srinivas, SI at Aswaraopeta Police Station, died allegedly by suicide on 7 July, a week after he had consumed a pesticide, citing harassment and non-cooperation by constables. Circle Inspector and others have been booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
