Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is expected to announce five guarantees to the entire nation in Hyderabad on 6 April. Thukkuda has been fixed as the venue since it was from where party matriarch Sonia Gandhi announced six guarantees for Telangana on 17 September last. The promises are widely believed to have helped the party win power in the state.
