Academics today focus on nuances associated with specific questions, such as why Israel is necessary for imperialist nations and what led to the rise of Hamas and importantly, shortfalls of the British Left, in addressing the theory of the national question in the Palestinian context. Answers lie in the Left missing the difference between national liberation struggle and socialist struggle.
