NewsClick founder and editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha was released from the Tihar Jail in Delhi on Wednesday, 15 May, hours after the Supreme Court declared his arrest “invalid”. Purkayastha had been lodged in the jail since 2 November last year, having been arrested under the anti-terror law UAPA for allegedly receiving money to peddle pro-China propaganda.
