Krishnaiah murder: SC to hear plea against freeing lawmaker

A bench of justices Surya Kant and KV Viswanathan is slated to hear the plea filed by Uma Krishnaiah, the wife of the slain officer.

The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a plea challenging the remission granted to former lawmaker Anand Mohan, who served more than 14 years in jail for the 1994 murder of G Krishnaiah, former Gopalganj district magistrate. Krishnaiah of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh was lynched by a Mohan-led mob when his vehicle tried to overtake gangster Chhotan Shukla’s funeral procession in Muzaffarpur.
