The Election Commission (EC) of India on Friday issued a notification and said that the schedule for the Lok Sabha elections and state Assembly elections 2024 on Saturday, 16 March. The term of the present Lok Sabha ends on 16 June and a new House has to be constituted before that. Last time, the polls were announced on 10 March 2019.
