On Saturday, 4 May, the CBI arrested four Kerala police officers in connection with the alleged 2023 custodial death of 30-year-old Thamir Jifri who died in police custody a day after he was taken into police custody. Kerala crime branch initially handled the case, which was transferred to the central investigation agency on the directives of the Kerala High Court.
