The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) launched simultaneous raids on Tuesday, 23 June, at 11 locations linked to Nizamabad Excise Superintendent Mallareddy, acting on numerous complaints alleging corruption and disproportionate assets.
ACB teams, deployed from early morning, conducted searches at Mallareddy’s office and residence in Nizamabad, his residence at Macchabollaram in Hyderabad, and the homes of several of his relatives.
Preliminary findings have reportedly revealed the accumulation of significant disproportionate assets, according to ACB officials. The bureau had been closely monitoring Mallareddy’s activities for some time, following complaints from multiple sources alleging financial irregularities during his tenure.
Searches were still underway at the time of reporting. Further details are expected to emerge as the ACB completes its inspection of all premises and documents recovered during the operation.
The current raids are part of a series of similar cases across Telangana. Most recently, the ACB conducted searches at around 12 locations linked to Sunkari Narahari, Deputy Director of Survey and Land Records (Multi Zone-II), Hyderabad, on 16 June.
Raids uncovered approximately ₹1.54 crore in cash, bank deposits worth ₹2.29 crore, fixed deposits of ₹5.04 crore, around 1.3 kg of gold ornaments, eight kg of silver, a luxury vehicle, and several immovable properties.
On 9 June, the ACB raided the properties of Roads and Buildings Department Engineer-in-Chief Mohan Naik at 11 locations in Miyapur, Hyderabad.
