Synopsis: TGSPDCL lineman Puppla Ramesh was arrested in Motakondur after being caught red‑handed accepting a ₹35,000 bribe from a farmer for borewell electricity. ACB recovered the tainted amount and confirmed evidence.

TGSPDCL lineman Puppla Ramesh was nabbed while allegedly accepting a Rs 35,000 bribe from a farmer in Yadadri-Bhongir district for arranging electricity supply to his agricultural borewell, Telangana ACB officials informed on Saturday, 16 May.

Ramesh is accused of demanding the payment for erecting electric poles and installing a transformer, reported Deccan Chronicle.

After the farmer approached the ACB, a trap was set and Ramesh was caught red-handed at Motakondur. The sum of Rs 35,000 was recovered, and chemical tests confirmed traces on both his hands.

He was arrested and presented before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad.
