Arvind Kumar has been transferred as the Special Chief Secretary of the Revenue (Disaster Management) Department.
In yet another reshuffling of the IAS officers in Telangana, the state government on Sunday, 17 December, transferred and reassigned 11 officers to different positions across the state.
Arvind Kumar, a 1991-batch IAS officer who was the special chief secretary in the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department, has been appointed as the special chief secretary of the Revenue (Disaster Management) Department.
This transfer relieves Rahul Bojja, a 2000-batch IAS officer, from the Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the Revenue Department.
M Dana Kishore, an IAS officer from the 1996 batch who was serving as the managing director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), has been appointed as the principal secretary to the Government in the MA&UD Department.
Additionally, he will hold the FAC of the metropolitan commissioner for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and as the commissioner and director of Municipal Administration.
Arvind Kumar ranked the fourth-most senior bureaucrat in Telangana, played a significant role in the previous K Chandrashekar Rao-led state government.
He led the MA&UD Department during KT Rama Rao’s tenure as the MA&UD minister, contributing to the city’s infrastructural development, including projects like the Durgam Cheruvu Bridge and multiple strategic road development projects that resulted in the construction of around 36 flyovers, Road Under Bridge (RUB), Link Roads and Road Over Bridge(ROB) in Hyderabad.
He also served as the interim vice-chancellor of Osmania University.
Arvind Kumar faced opposition scrutiny during the KCR regime, primarily due to his extended tenure in the Municipal Department.
