Synopsis: The Union government increased the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹993 across the country. This is the third time that the Union government has increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders since 28 February.
In the wake of the energy crisis due to the war between the US-Israel and Iran, the Union government, on Friday, 1 May, increased the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹993 across the country.
The price of a 5 kg commercial cylinder has also been increased by ₹261.
This is the third time that the Union government has increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders since 28 February. It first saw an increase of about ₹115 in early March, followed by a further hike of nearly ₹200 on 1 April.
Meanwhile, the Indian Oil Corporation said that the retail prices of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG remain unchanged.
“The retail prices of Petrol, Diesel and domestic LPG (14.2 kg cylinders) have remained unchanged, fully insulating domestic consumers from the recent increase in international fuel prices,” it said in a press release.
It added that there is no change in ATF prices for domestic airlines (scheduled operations) and PDS kerosene.
“The above measures reflect the calibrated and balanced approach adopted by OMCs, under the guidance of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, to align with global market trends while protecting domestic consumers and ensuring economic stability,” the corporation added.
