Police are examining videos of the speech after BRS leaders lodged complaints in Mulugu and Narasampet on Wednesday.
Reacting to the complaints lodged against him by the BRS leaders, TPCC President A Revanth Reddy on Wedneaday, 8 February, said that he is not intimidated by such complaints as they are not new to him.
This comes after the BRS leaders on Wednesday lodged complaints against Reddy over his remark on Tuesday, during the second day of Hath se Hath Jodo Yatra.
While accusing Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of ignoring the woes of the people as he was barricaded behind the walls of the Pragathi Bhavan (CM’s official residence), Reddy had said that even if Maoists blow up Pragathi Bhavan with explosives it would be of little consequence as it was of no use to the people.
On Wednesday, the BRS cadres lodged complaints against Reddy at Mulugu and Narasampet police stations, seeking action against the Congress leader.
“We are seeking legal opinion on the complaints. So far no FIR has been lodged. We are also examining the video footage of the speech and only then will we investigate further,” Mulugu SI Omkar Yadav told South First.
We move forward with the spirit you have given us that filled our hearts with valour & courage of divine Sammakka and Saralamma.

Reddy, who kicked off his yatra from the Sammakka Saralamma temple in Mulugu district on 6 February, said: “The building was constructed with people’s money but they have no access to it. Its like him sitting in an ivory tower. It is of no use to the people.”
He questioned whether the Pragathi Bhavan was home to the KCR family only.
Reddy, the Member of Parliament from Malkajgiri constituency, also alleged that only the Kalvakuntla family benefited from the sacrifices of Telangana protagonists.
“All members of KCR’s family are enjoying political positions while not a single family member of those who made the sacrifices got any benefit,” he noted.
Reddy claimed that over one lakh farmers died in the last nine years, of whom 10,000 died by suicide.
“While the government is not officially announcing their death as suicide, the fact is that the chief minister is responsible for farmer suicides,” he said.
He also took a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre.
“Prime Minister Modi is busy with electioneering while the country faces a massive financial crisis. All they want to do is to sell public property, privatise PSUs, and help their crony capitalist friends,” Reddy alleged.
Incensed over his comments, BRS leaders warned the Malkajgiri Congress MP that they would obstruct his padayatra if he ever made such comments in the future.
The BRS cadres organised protests and took out mock funeral processions of Revanth Reddy and demanded the police investigate the Congress leader’s comments.
At the state Assembly, BRS MLA Peddireddy Sudarshan Reddy called for protests all over Narsampet constituency.
“Would CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka or senior leader K Jana Reddy support Revanth Reddy’s saying that no harm would be done if Pragathi Bahvan is blown up? Has the Congress departed from Gandhian principles of nonviolence,” he asked.
He demanded that Revanth Reddy be booked under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act, invoked by the police to keep habitual and notorious offenders in jail for a period of one year.
Peddireddy added, “Will Revanth Reddy make a similar statement in regard to government buildings in Chhattisgarh where the Congress is in power?”
Another BRS MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy described Revanth Reddy as a criminal and said he was taking out a Thodo Yatra while Congerss leader Rahul Gandhi took out Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“Reventh Reddy is in frustration,” he said.
