Synopsis: Domestic LPG cylinder prices were hiked by ₹29 nationwide on 7 June, 2026, the second increase in three months. With a ₹60 hike in March, consumers now face a cumulative ₹89 rise.
Domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by ₹29 across India on 7 June, 2026, marking the second hike in three months and adding to household financial strain.
In Delhi, the price rose from ₹913 to ₹942, while Chennai at ₹957.50, Hyderabad crossed ₹990, reflecting the nationwide impact of the hike.
This hike follows the earlier increase of ₹60 on 7 March, taking the cumulative rise to ₹89 per cylinder within a short span. The successive hikes will impact families and small eateries, which rely heavily on LPG for cooking and daily operations.
Commercial LPG cylinders (19 kg) have also seen steep increases this year. On 1 June, prices were raised by ₹42–₹53.50 across cities, pushing rates to ₹3,113.50 in Delhi, ₹3,067.50 in Mumbai, and ₹3,367 in Hyderabad.
Restaurants, families, and small enterprises, already grappling with inflationary pressures, face mounting costs due to these repeated hikes.
While the Centre continues to highlight the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) subsidy, which keeps effective prices for beneficiaries at ₹642, the broader consumer base remains exposed to rising international fuel costs and currency fluctuations amid West Asia crisis.
