BRS to organise state wide ‘Athmeeya sammelans’ ahead of Telangana Assembly polls

KCR will analyse the situation at the party's foundation day celebrations where he will roll out the party's plan for facing the elections.

The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has begun preparations to keep its powder dry for the electoral showdown later this year with its rivals BJP and the Congress.

Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao will take stock of the situation at the party’s foundation day celebrations on 27 April, where he will roll out the party’s plan for facing the elections by adopting political resolutions.

He has already decided to organise a major public meeting in Warangal on 10 October, to sound the bugle for the electoral battle.

KTR wants local meetings

To set the tone for the party’s general body, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday, 9 April, asked the MLAs and in-charges to organise meetings locally to sensitise the delegate on the party’s programmes to be held on 25 April.

The delegates have to reach the headquarters of the constituency after hoisting party flags in their respective villages in the morning.

KTR said that for each constituency, the number of delegates should be about 2,500 to 3,000. The MLAs and the party in-charges have to ensure that all those who are holding public offices should attend the meetings.

On 27 April, the party’s foundation day celebrations would be held at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad which would be presided over by the chief minister. As many as 300 delegates will attend the general body meeting which will begin immediately after KCR hoists the party flag.

The general body will discuss the prevailing political situation both in the state and outside and adopt several political resolutions on the way forward for the party.

Public meeting in Warangal

As it is harvesting time in Telangana and with day temperatures soaring every day, the public meeting which is usually organised after the general body will be held this year on 10 October at Warangal.

KTR said that the Athmeeya sammelans which are going in the entire state will come to an end by the end of May.

The BRS leader said that KCR was pleased with the way the meetings have been going on and that he was complimenting them for conducting them in a befitting manner.

KCR appoints in-charges for three assembly constituencies:

Marri Rajasekhar Reddy will be in charge of the Cantonment, Nanda Kishore Vyas Bilal for Gosha Mahal, and MP Malothu Kavitha for Bhadrachalam. They would supervise the conduct of the Athmeeya sammelans in their constituencies as well as prepare the workers for the party foundation day celebrations.
