The State Election Commission will publish a ward-wise draft voters’ list on July 23 in preparation for the upcoming local body elections.

The final list will be published on August 30, according to State Election Commissioner A Shahjahan.

The draft roll includes 2,66,78,256 voters—comprising 1,26,32,186 men, 1,40,45,837 women, and 233 transgender persons—across 20,998 wards in 1,034 local bodies.

The list is based on adjustments to the electoral roll following revisions carried out in October 2023 and July 2024.

Compared to the October 2023 draft, which had 2.76 crore voters, around 8.76 lakh ineligible entries have been removed, and 57,640 new voters added.

In the July 2024 revision, 4.52 lakh names were deleted, while 2.68 lakh new voters were included.

Eligible citizens, including those who will turn 18 by January 1, 2025, can apply to be added to the roll until August 7.

Applications for inclusion, correction, or objection must be submitted online at sec.kerala.gov.in, with signed copies submitted to the respective Electoral Registration Officers.

In case of disputes, appeals can be filed with the District Joint Director of the Local Self-Government Department within 15 days of the officer’s decision.
