Pathanamthitta witnessed intense rainfall from 1 to 3 August, triggering flooding in several parts of the district.
The Keralam government has sanctioned ₹25.64 crore in immediate relief for 25,648 families in Pathanamthitta district whose homes were damaged in the recent floods.
Each affected family will receive ₹10,000 to carry out repairs and make the house habitable again, according to the office of Chief Minister VDSatheesan. The assistance will be drawn from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
The district Collector has been directed to ensure that the funds are disbursed without delay. The amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
