Kerala is set to comprehensively revise its higher secondary curriculum, with new textbooks expected to reach students by the next academic year.

The existing curriculum, last updated in 2015, will undergo major changes to reflect global developments and address future academic and social challenges.

Officials said the revision would align with ongoing updates in the state’s school curriculum for Classes 1 to 10 and the progressive reforms introduced in the higher education sector.

In the first phase, 80 titles prepared by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will be revised.

The government aims to complete this academic year’s revision activities promptly, ensuring that the updated textbooks are ready for the upcoming batch.

The move is part of Kerala’s broader strategy to modernise its education system and better equip students for emerging global trends and knowledge domains.
