Arrest

In a shocking turn of events, the Pozhiyoor police in Thiruvananthapuram have apprehended a husband-wife duo in connection with an alleged murder case, which was disguised as a road accident.

The incident also revealed a sinister plot that involved shifting the victim’s body to Kerala from Tamil Nadu to cover up the crime.

According to the police, the suspects — identified as Shameer and Janeefa, who are natives of Tamil Nadu — allegedly assaulted a person in their home state on Thursday, 14 March.

They are accused of fatally injuring the victim, identified as Mohammad Aseem, a native of Tamil Nadu

Presuming that he had died, the duo allegedly transported the victim to Kerala and put his body on the road at Elluvila in Parassala to make it appear as though the victim had died in a road accident.

The twist

However, despite being critically injured, the victim managed to convey crucial information to a good samaritan who promptly took him to a nearby hospital.

Aseem succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning. However, according to the police, the victim’s revelation of two names became a pivotal lead.

The police added that crime scene investigation was also important as they couldn’t find any evidence of a road accident at the spot where the victim was found.

As per local reports, Muhammad had relations with Shameer’s wife, and this was one of the reasons why he got attacked.

It is learnt that the suspects, along with the case details, will now be handed over to the Tamil Nadu police for further legal proceedings.
