Synopsis: At the SP level, Sujith Das S, SP (Information, Communication and Technology), has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Procurement). Gopakumar KS, Additional Commissioner of Excise (Admin), has been appointed as AIG, Law & Order.
Kerala government on Thursday, 25 September, has ordered a reshuffle of senior IPS officers.
Among the DGP level rank officers, Road Safety Commissioner Nitin Agrawal has been appointed as the Director General of Fire & Rescue Services.
While Yogesh Gupta, who previously held the post, will now serve as Road Safety Commissioner.
It is to be noted that he is currently pursuing legal action against the state in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), alleging that the government withheld a vigilance status report sought by the Union Home Ministry, thereby obstructing his chances of securing a central posting.
At the SP level, Sujith Das S, SP (Information, Communication and Technology), has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police (Procurement).
Gopakumar KS, Additional Commissioner of Excise (Admin), has been appointed as AIG, Law & Order.
Johnkutty KL, SP of the Special Investigation Unit I, VACB, Thiruvananthapuram, will take charge as SP, Crime Branch, Ernakulam. According to a OnManorama report, he supervised the inquiry into the alleged wealth misappropriation by ADGP M R Ajith Kumar.
Johnkutty, along with inquiry officer DySP Shibu Pappachan, had submitted a report finding no evidence against Ajith Kumar. However, the Vigilance Court recently rejected the report, observing that the inquiry was manipulated to shield the ADGP.
V.G. Vinodkumar, AIG (Law & Order), has been shifted as SP, ICT, replacing Sujith Das.
Meanwhile, Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order 2), Thiruvananthapuram City, has been elevated as Commissioner of Police, Thrissur City.
