IIM Kozhikode, Tata Power-DDL join hands for capacity building in power sector
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) to strengthen capacity building, training, and knowledge development in the power distribution sector.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) formalising the collaboration was signed by IIMK Director Debashis Chatterjee and Praveen Agrawal representing Tata Power-DDL.
The five-year agreement aims to create a pipeline of skilled, future-ready professionals capable of addressing emerging challenges in India’s dynamic energy sector and global markets.
As part of the partnership, the two organisations will jointly develop and deliver specialised training programmes for power sector professionals, focusing on areas such as smart grids, renewable integration, distributed generation, electric mobility, and AI applications in power systems.
The collaboration will also extend to joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programmes, workshops, and consulting assignments. Key focus areas include energy transition and decarbonisation, smart grid resilience, sustainability and ESG integration, digital transformation, and leadership development.
The MoU enables IIMK to invite Tata Power-DDL experts to its global conclaves and thought leadership forums, strengthening industry-academic ties.
Both entities see this alliance as a platform to drive innovation and foster future-readiness in the power sector.
