Two government school teachers in Karnataka’s Yadgir district have been suspended for participating in a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) patha sanchalan in Talikoti, Vijayapura district. The disciplinary action comes nearly nine months after the event was held in November 2025 as part of programmes marking the Sangh’s centenary celebrations.
Yadgir Deputy Director of Public Instruction Channabasappa Mudhol suspended Gururaj Joshi, a teacher at Hunasagi Girls’ High School, and Annasaheb Deshmukh, head teacher of the Government Lower Primary School at Kuppi village.
The order follows a complaint filed by the Ambedkar Swabhimani Sene that the two teachers had participated in the RSS event while in government service.
The organisation approached the then Rural Development Minister, Priyank Kharge, who in turn wrote to School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa seeking an inquiry and action.
Following an Education Department inquiry into the complaint, suspension orders have now been issued against the two teachers.
