Polls to four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka on 18 June; nominations close on 8 June
The polls will fill four vacancies in the Council of States following the retirement of Narayana Koragappa, Iranna Kadadi, HD Devegowda and Mallikarjun Kharge on 25 June.

Polling will be held on 18 June from 9 am to 4 pm.
Synopsis: The biennial election to fill four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka will be held on 18 June at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, with nominations closing on 8 June. Votes will be counted on the same day as the poll. The terms of incumbent members Narayana Koragappa, Iranna Kadadi, HD Devegowda and Mallikarjun Kharge are due to end on 25 June.
The biennial election to fill four vacancies in the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka will be held on 18 June, with polling scheduled at Room No. 106 on the first floor of Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the legislature in Bengaluru.
In a notification issued on 1 June, MK Vishalakshi, Secretary of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Returning Officer for the election, said the polling station had been fixed as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
BS Mahalingesh, Director of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, will be the Assistant Returning Officer.
The last date for filing nominations is 8 June, while scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on 9 June. Candidates may withdraw their candidature until 11 June.
Polling will be held on 18 June from 9 am to 4 pm. The counting of votes will commence at 5 pm on the same day.

The ruling Congress is set to claim three of the four seats that are falling vacant. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to be renominated, while the party has announced that it will allot one seat to Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief YS Sharmila.
The third seat was offered to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. However, he has declined to move to national politics, insisting that he will complete his full term as an MLA.
