Pawar’s previous disqualification

Pawar had previously been disqualified from his membership on charges of conflict of interest and office of profit, after an inquiry revealed he misused his position to acquire shops in the Khau Katta eat street for his wife.

However, he challenged the decision in the Karnataka High Court with the support of Patil, which allowed him to vote and participate in the election.

The election results were announced by Regional Commissioner Sanjay Shettannanavar, who congratulated both Pawar and Joshi in the presence of BCC Commissioner B Shubha and other officers.

Before the election, senior BJP leaders, including MP Jagadish Shettar and MLC N Ravikumar, addressed the elected members, and the names of the candidates were finalised.

There were three aspirants for the Mayor’s position and five for the Deputy Mayor’s post.
