Synopsis: The Karnataka government has reshuffled senior IAS officers across several key departments, assigning additional responsibilities and making a number of transfers. Among the changes, Anjum Parwez and Rajender Kumar Kataria were given charge of the Public Works and Home departments respectively, while Mohan Raj KP was posted to the Social Welfare Department.
The Karnataka government on Wednesday, 10 June effected a reshuffle in the senior bureaucracy across several key departments.
According to a series of notifications issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Anjum Parwez, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, has been given concurrent charge of the post of Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Public Works Department, Bengaluru, until further orders.
He assumes the additional charge following the transfer of Amlan Aditya Biswas, IAS.
Separately, Rajender Kumar Kataria, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, has been assigned concurrent charge of the post of Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Bengaluru, with immediate effect and until further orders.
In another transfer, Mohan Raj KP, IAS, Secretary to the Government, Housing Department, has been posted as Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, Bengaluru, with immediate effect. He will relieve Randeep D, IAS, of the concurrent charge of the department.
Mohan Raj KP has also been entrusted with concurrent charge of the post of Secretary to the Government, Housing Department, Bengaluru, until further orders.
Dr Venkatesh MV, IAS, Registrar for Cooperative Societies, Bengaluru, has been given concurrent charge of the post of Secretary to the Government, Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics Department, Bengaluru, with immediate effect and until further orders.
Dr Selvamani R, IAS, Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety, Bengaluru, has been given concurrent charge of the post of Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru.
He takes over the additional responsibility following the transfer of Akram Pasha, IAS.
Dr Mahesh M, IAS, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Managing Director of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board, Bengaluru, against the existing vacancy with immediate effect.
In a separate notification, Khushboo G Chowdhary, IAS, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce, Bengaluru, was assigned concurrent charge of three additional posts with immediate effect and until further orders.
She has been given additional charge as Chief Executive Officer of Invest Karnataka Forum, Chairman and Managing Director of NGEF, and Managing Director of Mysore Lamp Works Limited, all based in Bengaluru.

The posts of Chief Executive Officer, Invest Karnataka Forum; Chairman and Managing Director, NGEF; and Managing Director, Mysore Lamp Works Limited have been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Secretary to the Government in the Super Time Scale of the IAS under Schedule II-A of the Rules.
The post of Secretary to the Government, Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics Department has similarly been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Secretary to the Government in the Senior Scale of the IAS under Schedule II-A of the Rules.
The post of State Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Director of Municipal Administration in the Senior Scale of the IAS under Schedule II-B of the Rules.
