Karnataka Lokayukta raids 10 government officials in disproportionate assets crackdown

Synopsis: Karnataka Lokayukta raided 10 government officials across 50+ locations Tuesday in disproportionate assets cases, targeting officers from RTO Bengaluru, PWD Mysuru, Upper Krishna Project Bidar, universities and others. Searches continue; cases filed under Prevention of Corruption Act.

Karnataka Lokayukta police on Tuesday held raids at over 50 locations across the state targeting 10 serving government officials in connection with alleged disproportionate assets cases.

Ramaswamy C, Revenue Inspector, Hootgalli Municipality, Mysuru
Girish D M, Assistant Executive Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD), Mysuru-Madikeri Road
Prem Singh, Chief Engineer, Upper Krishna Project, Bidar
Subash Chandra, Assistant Professor (Sociology), Karnataka University, Dharwad
Sathish, Senior Veterinary Officer, Primary Veterinary Clinic, Huilgol, Dharwad
Shekhappa, Executive Engineer, Office of the Project Director, Haveri
Lakshmipathi CN, First Division Assistant, Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Shivamogga
Prabhu J, Assistant Director, Agriculture Sales Depot, APMC Yard, Davangere

Raids are underway at the residences, offices, and properties linked to the accused officials in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Bidar, Dharwad, Haveri, Shivamogga, and Davangere districts.

Teams are seizing documents, bank records, and details of movable and immovable assets.

Lokayukta has registered separate cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act against each official following preliminary inquiries that revealed assets far exceeding their known sources of income.
