Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are set to offer customary “bagina” to River Cauvery at KRS dam at 11 am on Monday, 30 June.
Water level at Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) reservoir in Srirangapatna taluk of Mandya district has touched optimum level of 124.8 ft on Sunday, 29 June, breaking all records of June since 1958.
Previous record was when it filled on 13 July 1973. On 1 June, level in KRS stood at 103.70 ft. From 1 June to 29, dams in Cauvery basin received 73.4 tmcft and released 41.3 tmcft.
