A 51-year-old man was assaulted after his son eloped with a woman in the Devanagere district of Karnataka and married her, in an incident reminiscent of a 40-year-old Belagavi woman’s case, who was attacked and paraded naked for her son’s elopement,

The Melebennur police have registered and arrested two people in the latest incident, The accused have been identified as Mahadeva and Danana Gowda, the eloped woman’s brother and uncle, respectively.
