Rocking Star’s ‘Yash19’ is titled ‘Toxic’, to be helmed by Malayalam filmmaker Geetu Mohandas

Yash's upcoming film Yash19 titled Toxic

The wait is finally over for the diehard fans of Rocking Star Yash as his much-awaited 19th venture has officially been titled Toxic.

It will be directed by Malayalam filmmaker Geetu Mohandas and is scheduled to hit the screens on 10 April 2025.

The one-minute-17-second title announcement video has several interesting features, including Yash’s avatar as a circus joker with tickets burning.

It eventually reveals the Kannada actor in his trademark beard look holding a Tommy gun in a gangster attire with a blazer and a hat on.

The tagline, “A fairy tale for grownups”, assures yet another thriller filled with loads of action and thriller in the offing.

Geetu Mohandas

Actor-director Geetu Mohandas is not an unfamiliar name among Malayalam moviegoers. Her first feature film Liar’s Dice was the Indian official entry for the Oscars 2015 in the Best Film in Foreign Language category.

The film deals with the plight of migrants. It even won two National Awards — Best Actress for Geetanjali Thapa and Best Cinematography for Rajeev Raji.

Geetu’s Moothon (2019) was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Geetu Mohandas started her career as a child artiste in Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare (1986) and went on to act in several films.

In 2000, she returned to acting in Fazil’s Life is Beautiful. She acted in films like Thenkashipatanam and Nammal Thammil.

After the title announcement of her next directorial with Yash, the filmmaker shared the update on her social media account saying, “I’m ecstatic to announce my collaboration with a brilliant mind, a great human being and the wind beneath my wings.”

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that the third chapter of KGF, KGF3 is on the cards. Hombale Films hinted about it in a tribute video it shared on the anniversary of KGF2.

Several Bollywood filmmakers approached Yash for his next.

It is said that the Kannada actor has been offered to play the mythological character of Ravan alongside Ranbir Kapoor who would portray Ram.
