Kaliyugam Pattanamlo release stalled

The release of Kaliyugam Pattanamlo, which was supposed to hit the screens on 29 March, has been stalled. The makers did not disclose the reason for postponing the release date.

In a statement released in Hyderabad on Saturday, 30 March, the film team said, “Due to unavoidable reasons, this film’s release is stalled.”

The statement also added that the producers would announce the new release date soon.

Kaliyugam Pattanamlo stars Vishva Karthikeya and Aayushi Patel in the lead roles. Directed by debut film-maker Ramakhanth Reddy, the film was produced by Kandula Chandra Obul Reddy, G Maheshwara Reddy, and Kattam Ramesh.

In a previous press interaction, director Ramakhanth Reddy expressed his happiness over Kaliyugam Pattanamlo being released by the prestigious banner — Annapurna Studios.

The director also shared that one of the producers, Mahesh, was his cousin and the other two — Obul Reddy and Ramesh — had no film background.

“Obul Reddy owns educational institutes. He heard the story and immediately approved it. He also gave us full support by allowing us to shoot at their schools and other properties in Kadapa and Hyderabad,” Ramakthanth Reddy recollected.

He also announced a sequel to the film — Kaliyugam Nagaramlo.

Actor Vishva Karthikeya said Kaliyugam Pattanamlo conveys a message to society on how improper parenting would impact society.

“The film underscores parents’ role in shaping the future of children. It was shot in some picturesque locations in Kadapa. We didn’t erect any sets. We are happy that Annapurna Studios is releasing our film. We are satisfied with how the movie came out,” he explained.

A mystery crime thriller, Kaliyugam Pattanamlo had various elements combining romance, murder mystery, action, and women empowerment with a social message.
