After the hit film Mark Antony (2023), Vishal will soon be back with an action entertainer — Rathnam. On Tuesday, 16 April, the makers released the film’s trailer.
The Rathnam trailer opens with a voiceover explaining the happenings along the Tamil Nadu border — some chaotic situations and powerful people trying to take advantage of it.
The trailer also shows a heartwarming love story between the lead pair — Vishal and Priya Bhavani Shankar who are chased and attacked by the powerful men. What follows next are breathtaking action sequences.
In all, the Rathnam trailer promises an action entertainer. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score has enhanced the visuals.
The film is slated for release on 26 April.
Directed by Hari, Rathnam is jointly produced by Kaarthekeyan Santhanam and Kalyan Subramaniam Alankar Pandian (Invenio Origin) under the banners of Zee Studios and Stone Bench Films.
It also features Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, and Gautam Vasudev Menon in crucial roles.
Vishal’s last outing Mark Antony grossed almost ₹82 crore in India and over ₹100 crore worldwide. The 2023 flick stood as Vishal’s highest-grosser.
A multi-genre comedy-gangster action thriller, Mark Antony was released in September last year and opened to positive reviews from critics. It was made on a budget of around ₹50 crore.
