trisha vijay antony december end race

Trisha Krishnan’s and Vijay Antony’s films have made a surprise entry in the year-end race.

Trisha’s film Raangi, produced by Lyca Productions, was lying in the cans for a long time. A few months ago, it went to the censor board.

Sources say that the movie received heavy cuts from the censor board as it showed the Indian secret service RAW in a bad light.

Now, Lyca Productions is releasing Raangi on 30 December without any fanfare. Indeed, it put out a video coinciding with the 20th year of Trisha in filmdom.

The video showed her in action mode. Saravanan of Engaeyum Epoothum is directing the flick. Celebrated director AR Murugadoss is the story writer.

Similarly, Vijay Antony, who has been lying low since 2021 after Kodiyil Oruvan (Vijaya Raghavan in Telugu), announced that Thamilarasan would be released on 30 December.

Directed by Babu Yogeswaran, the movie brings back Suresh Gopi (last seen in Shankar’s I) and Sonu Sood (Devi 2) to the Tamil screens.

Remya Nambeesan plays the female lead. The interesting part is that Vijay Antony, a music director himself, did not score the music this time. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja composed the music. Zee 5 bought the OTT rights of Thamilarasan.

Bichagadu, the Telugu-dubbed version of Pichaikaran, got Vijay Antony good mileage in Tollywood. Following this, all his films were dubbed in Telugu and released. However, there is no mention of Tamilarasan’s Telugu version this time.

Let’s wait and watch how Trisha and Vijay Antony would score at the box office!

Varisu, Red Giant Movies bags TN distribution

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies bagged the distribution rights of Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu in some areas of Tamil Nadu. An official announcement from Seven Screen Studio, which owns the film’s theatrical rights in the state, confirmed the same.

This confirms the report that Red Giant Movies, which also holds the state distribution rights of Ajith’s Thunivu, had acquired a few areas of Varisu.

The most-earning box office areas of Chennai, Chengalpet, NSC, Arcot, and Coimbatore lie with Udhayanidhi now.
