Vishwak Sen’s next with KV Anudeep titled ‘Funky’

Actor Vishwak Sen, who was last seen in Mechanic Rocky has now joined hands with director KV Anudeep for his next project.

The film jointly produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, is titled Funky. It is touted to be a family entertainer with KV Anudeep’s signature humour.

The film had its pooja ceremony on Wednesday, 11 December, with Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin sounding the clap and director Kalyan Shankar switching on the camera. Producer S Naga Vamsi handed over the script to the team.

A day prior, on Tuesday, 10 December, the makers said that the film would be about family, fun and endless laughter.

Sharing the poster of the film, the makers wrote: “Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen and Super Fun Director KV Anudeep bringing you #FUNKY, a laugh-out-loud FAMILY ENTERTAINER! ”

According to reports, Ashika Ranganath, currently part of Chiranjeevi Vishwambhara, has been roped in as the female lead in Funky.

The makers further announced that the shooting of the film will start post-Sankranthi in January 2025. Bheems Ceciroleo will compose the film’s music. Suresh Sarangam is on board as the cinematographer and National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli.

Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya are bankrolling the project under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. Srikara Studios will present the film.

Vishwak Sen’s Mechanic Rocky received mixed reviews and will soon debut on OTT. The actor rose to fame with Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi in 2018 and was later seen in films like Gangs of Godavari (2024), Gaami (2024), HIT (2020), and Ashokavanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam (2022).

KV Anudeep last directed a bilingual film Prince (2022), starring Sivakarthikeyan. He however rose to fame with the blockbuster hit Jathi Ratnalu (2021), which was produced by director Nag Ashwin.
