‘Thangalaan’ costume designer joins Ram Charan’s ‘RC16’

Ekambaram, who worked with Pa Ranjith, has been roped in for Buchi Babu Sana's upcoming Telugu directorial.

'Thangalaan' costume designer joins Ram Charan-Buchi Babu Sana's RC16

Aegan Ekambaram, the costume designer of the highly-acclaimed Tamil film Thangalaan, is all set to make his debut in Tollywood. Ekambaram, who worked with Pa Ranjith, will now work with Buchi Babu Sana in his directorial with Ram Charan, titled RC16.

Sharing the news, Ekambaram expressed his happiness over foraying into the Telugu film industry through RC16. He further expressed his gratitude to director Buchi Babu Sana for roping him in the movie.

He also stated that he is excited to work with Ram Charan and on his new journey from Tamil to Telugu.

“I feel it’s a great chance to explore new things in Telugu and get to know more about their traditions. I’m glad to work on project RC16. One more my spl thanks Raman garu,”  his post read.

The costume designer posted a photo with Raman Chinthakayala, the writing associate of Buchi Babu Sana.

Touted to be a pan-India entertainer, RC16 caught the attention of film lovers because of its ensemble cast, brilliant technicians, and high budget. According to reports, the film is being shot with a budget of around ₹300 crore.

Two-time Oscar Award-winning composer AR Rahman is scoring the music for this Ram Charan-starrer. R Rathnavelu is the cinematographer and Avinash Kolla is the production designer.

RC16 features Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady. Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, too, joined the team.

According to a press release from the makers, RC16 will cast many celebrated actors from across languages, apart from Shiva Rajkumar, in key roles. More details about the other cast and crew will be revealed soon.

While the movie is set against the backdrop of North Andhra Pradesh, there are rumours that it will be titled “Peddi”.

Game Changer release date

Meanwhile, Ram Charan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Game Changer. Directed by Shankar and produced by Dil Raju, the film stars Kiara Advani opposite the RRR star.

Reports say the sports drama is being shot with a whopping budget of ₹300 crore.

In an interesting turn, music director Thaman shared a movie poster that piqued the curiosity among fans. The poster revealed the release date of the film—20 December, for Christmas.
