SSMB29 is one of the most awaited ventures in the Telugu film industry. The movie brings together the ace director SS Rajamouli and Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu for the first time.
While the anticipation around the project is palpable, the makers have kept everything under wraps. However, the latest reports suggest that Rajamouli has decided to kick off SSMB29 with VFX sequences. Like all other Rajamouli films, this too is expected to be high on VFX sequences.
The RRR (2022) director is also known to use high-end technologies in his films, always stepping up in his craft.
Similarly, SSMB29, which is reported to be a jungle adventure drama, is bound to involve a lot of VFX-based action sequences.
According to a report by 123Telugu, the filmmaker is planning to shoot the VFX sequences first as it would allow him to start post-production on the scenes simultaneously. It is also reported that Rajamouli has tied up with a few Hollywood studios for the VFX sequences.
The report also suggested that the core cast of SSMB29 has been locked in. Previously, it was anticipated that Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran might be the antagonist. However, there has been no confirmation yet.
Primarily set to be filmed in the African jungles, SSMB29 is poised to be one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema, with a budget exceeding ₹1,000 crore.
Meanwhile, SSMB29 is set to have PS Vinod as its cinematographer. This comes as a surprise as Rajamouli has not opted for his trusted cameraman KK Senthil Kumar this time.
Vinod has worked in multiple Hindi and Telugu films, with his last being Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram (2024). He also shot the visually pleasing Sita Ramam (2022).
SSMB29 was written by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad, who has been writing his scripts for a long time. The music will be scored by MM Keeravani.
