'Baahubali' to re-release in October. (X)
SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, the Baahubali franchise is set to release on the big screens this October, a decade after the release of first part.
The makers announced the news on Monday, 28 April, which marked eight years to the release of the second part, Baahubali: The Conclusion. While the first part Baahubali: The Beginning was released on 10 July, 2015.
The mythological action film, directed by SS Rajamouli, was co-produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. The film was written by V Vijayendra Prasad. It music composed by MM Keeravani. It starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.
Sharing the news of re-release, the makers wrote on X: “Baahubali is coming back to the BIG SCREENS…. This October, let’s celebrate even bigger! #BaahubaliReturns. Jai Maahishmathi….”

In the film, Prabhas plays a dual role, Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali, as father and son, who fights for his kingdom, and justice.
In Baahubali: The Beginning, a young man named Shivudu discovers he is Mahendra Baahubali, heir to the throne of Mahishmati. He learns his father, Amarendra Baahubali, was a noble prince betrayed and killed by his uncle Bhallaladeva.
Meanwhile, in Baahubali: The Conclusion, Amarendra’s past is revealed—his love for Devasena, betrayal by the royal court, and death by loyal guard Kattappa under orders. Mahendra rises to avenge his father, defeats Bhallaladeva, and restores justice to the kingdom.

According to a Cinema Express report, the first part grossed nearly ₹600 crore at the box office, the sequel broke all box office records, garnering approximately ₹1,800 crore globally.
Baahubali: The Beginning was also the first Telugu film to win the National Award for Best Feature Film. The film was additionally the recipient for Best Special Effects. Meanwhile, Baahubali: The Conclusion, won three National awards two years later — Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Special Effects, and Best Stunt Choreographer.
