The makers of SS Rajamouli’s RRR on Monday, 9 December, announced that the making documentary of the magnum opus will be out soon in December.
The Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer since its release in 2022 has been making a mark worldwide. SS Rajamouli’s directorial also featured Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn in lead roles, and achieved tremendous popularity.
At the 96th Academy Awards in 2023, RRR made history as Rajamouli’s epic film received special recognition at the Dolby Theatre in California. The song “Naatu Naatu” also won India’s first-ever trophy in the Best Original Song category.
RRR is a pre-Independence fictional story focusing on two real-life Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s — Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR).
Announcing the update on the documentary, the makers shared a poster featuring SS Rajamouli on X. They wrote: “The world saw the glory. Now witness the story.” The tagline for the documentary is “The Story Behind The Glory.”

Previously Netflix, Applause Entertainment, and Film Companion Studios teamed up for a biographical documentary titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli.
Featuring an interview with Rajamouli, behind-the-scenes footage, and compelling narratives, this collaboration aimed to capture the filmmaker’s creative world, highlighting his impact on Indian and international cinema and his innovative contributions to filmmaking.
The director is currently preparing for his next venture with Mahesh Babu. The yet-to-be-titled film is now being referred to as SSMB29.
SS Rajamouli was last seen in a cameo appearance in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, a mythological sci-fi drama starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.
