Actor Nani’s much-anticipated action drama, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, has faced a significant setback just before its release on 29 August. All the scheduled shows in the PVR-INOX multiplex theatres in Hyderabad have been unexpectedly removed.
The sudden move left fans and cinephiles puzzled and concerned, especially since the film garnered considerable excitement after the trailer launch.
As the issue remains unexplained, fans have been seeking answers from the film’s production team. In response, co-producer Kalyan Dasari assured fans that the team is aware of the situation and is working to resolve it.
Meanwhile, the advance bookings for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram are yet to start in the PVR-INOX theatres across the Telugu states.
Despite these hurdles, the film registered good advance bookings worldwide. As per reports, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram collected around ₹50 lakh from PVR-INOX bookings in Hyderabad alone before the shows were pulled. Further, the advance bookings in the USA already crossed the $250K mark.
The industry pinned high hopes for this Nani-starrer since the recent releases on Independence Day failed to meet the expectations.
Directed by Vivek Athreya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is the most expensive project in Nani’s career. It has been made with a budget of ₹90 crore. As a result, there is anticipation about whether the movie can surpass the success of Nani’s previous hit, Dasara (2023).
However, director Vivek Athreya and the entire team are optimistic that the project will achieve box office success.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram will hit theatres worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It has been censored with U/A with a runtime of two hours and 50 minutes. It being a vigilante action thriller blended with a feel-good love story, the makers felt that the lengthy runtime would do justice to the story.
Apart from Nani, the film stars SJ Suryah and Priyanka Arul Mohan as the antagonist and the leading lady. It also has an ensemble cast, including Saikumar, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Abhirami, Ajay, Murali Sharma, Aditi Balan, Ajay Ghosh, and Harsha Vardhan.
DVV Danayya’s DVV Entertainment bankrolled it. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram boasts music by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Murali G, and editing by Karthika Srinivas. Director Vivek Athreya wrote the script for the flick.
