Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan are teaming up once again after Taxiwala (2018). This time they are set to work on a periodical drama.
The film, currently referred to as VD14, is gearing up to start shooting soon. On Republic Day, the director started the film production work with a small pooja.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is expected to feature Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, although the team has not given any official confirmation.
The project touted to be a big-budget film, is a take on the “unspoken” colonial history of India set in the British era.
Sharing the update, the director wrote: “Set work started today with an auspicious pooja. A great tale on colonial history laid its first brick on our 76th Republic Day.”
He further said, “Am sure this film is going to be one of the most powerful films ever made on the Colonial history(unspoken) of India.”

Director Rahul Sankrityan, who had great success with Taxiwala and then with Nani-starrer Shyam Singha Roy (2021), is optimistic about achieving another career success.
The filmmaker, who took a long gap after his debut film, is doing the same for the third film. He is starting his next two years after the release of Shyam Singha Roy.
Apart from VD14, Vijay is also working on two projects with Ravi Kiran Kola and Gowtam Tinnanuri.
Ravi Kiran Kola’s film referred to as SVC59 will be produced by Dil Raju and Sirish, under the Sri Venkateswara Projects banner.
The SVC59 poster gives the impression that the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer will be an action drama.
VD12 directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri is billed as a spy action thriller. The shooting is underway. Filmmaker Trivikram’s wife Sai Soujanya is co-producing it. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse in the lead role.
Vijay Deverakonda hasn’t had a huge hit in the last few years. His last venture with Parusuram, The Family Star, also received mixed reviews.
