Telugu actor Nani’s much-anticipated film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, has been censored with U/A with a runtime close to three hours. The Vivek Athreya directorial will be released in theatres on 29 August.
The makers confirmed the runtime in a quirky video on social media. In the short video, Nani says the Censor version has been locked with a perfect runtime—two hours and 35 minutes. However, SJ Suryah corrects him: “Plus 15 minutes,” making it a two-hour-50-minute duration.
As Nani announces it’s an “action film”, Priyanka Arul Mohan chips in: “With a love story.”
The makers of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram believe the film demanded extra runtime since it has stunning action sequences and a cute love story. It is learnt that they wanted to fix the duration at 2 hours 35 minutes but added 15 minutes of footage since the story demanded the same.
The promotional material piqued the curiosity of fans and cineastes for the flick. Further, this is the first big-budget movie in Nani’s career, made with ₹90 crore. As a result, expectations are running high sky on this vigilante action thriller.
DVV Danayya is producing Saripodhaa Sanivaaram under his banner DVV Entertainment. It casts Nani as Surya, SJ Suryah as a ruthless police officer named Dayanand, and Priyanka Arul Mohan as police constable Charu.
The film also features an ensemble cast, including Sai Kumar, Abhirami, Aditi Balan, Murali Sharma, Ajay, Supreeth, Ajay Ghosh, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and Harsha Vardhan in crucial roles.
The movie has music by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Murali G, and editing by Karthika Srinivas. Director Vivek Athreya wrote its script.

Meanwhile, the makers are organising a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad on Saturday, 24 August, which will be attended by the entire cast and crew. The team has been touring several cities across South India as part of the film’s promotions.
The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The dubbed versions have been titled Surya’s Sunday.
The OTT giant Netflix bought its digital streaming rights, while Zee Telugu acquired the satellite rights.
Meanwhile, Nani shared the screen space with Priyanka Mohan in 2019 in Nani’s Gang Leader, a box office hit. He teamed up with Vivek Athreya for Ante Sundaraniki (2022), which opened to positive reviews. The film missed the mark in the domestic market but did good business overseas.
