Collection: 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' grosses ₹68.52 crore in four days

Nani’s latest release, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, is off to an impressive start at the box office, with a gross collection of ₹68.52 crore worldwide in just four days.

Despite heavy rains in the Telugu states, the film managed to hold strong over the weekend and the collections remain steady across theatres.

In India, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram registered a gross collection of ₹39.25 crore. The Telugu version alone contributed ₹31.34 crore to the overall collection. Meanwhile, the overseas markets added another ₹18 crore to the total.

The film already recovered about 78 percent of its ₹42 crore break-even target. Further, it became Nani’s third consecutive hit after Dasara and Hi Nanna, both released in 2023.

With positive word-of-mouth and no major releases soon, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is expected to cross the break-even mark in the coming days.

Celebrating the success of this Nani-starrer, the makers dubbed the film’s box office performance as “Box-Office Siva Thandavam“.

Directed by Vivek Athreya and produced by DVV Danayya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram also stars SJ Suryah and Priyanka Mohan in the lead roles. Sai Kumar, Abhirami, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Ajay, Murai Sharma, Jhansi, Ajay Ghosh, and Harsha Vardhan appear in crucial roles.

It has music composed by Jakes Bejoy and editing by Karthika Srinivas. Director Vivek Athreya penned the story too. Made with a budget of ₹90 crore, this is the most expensive film in Nani’s career.

“While the flashy concept of conserving one’s anger for a day in a week is its USP, the director oversells it beyond its expiry date. There are several paisa vasool moments—filled with anxiety and tension— leading to the conflicts, but just when you expect them to culminate in an emphatic finale, the charm wears out. Many sequences work individually and verbally though they don’t aid the progress of the story,” read our review.

Saripodhaa Sanivaaram was simultaneously released in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada dubbed versions as Surya’s Saturday. Netflix holds its digital streaming rights and Zee Telugu acquired its satellite rights.
