Devara: Part 1 worldwide collections cross ₹200 crore

Jr NTR-starrer Devara: Part 1, released on 27 September, has crossed the ₹200-crore mark at the box office collections worldwide.

According to the makers, the film collected about ₹243 crore worldwide, despite the mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

According to Sacnlik, the movie collected about ₹38.2 crore from India on the second day, much less compared to the ₹82 crore on day one. On the third day, Sunday, 29 September, the movie collected about ₹40.3 crore, a slight increase from day two.

To date, Devara: Part 1 registered collections to the tune of ₹161 crore in India. The film, which was released in four South Indian languages along with Hindi, collected ₹128.45 crore in Telugu, ₹27.5 crore in Hindi, ₹1.05 crore in Kannada, ₹3.1 crore in Tamil, and ₹0.9 crore in Malayalam.

While the film saw a slight increase in collections on Sunday, the first Monday (30 September) is crucial for its success.

Devara: Part 1 is also Jr NTR’s solo film after six years. His last movie with Ram Charan, Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR (2022), gained global attention.

Further, it is the second-biggest opening of the year for an Indian movie after Prabhas’s Kalki 2898 AD, which registered ₹95 crore on the first day of release in India.

“Daavudi” song missing from Devara

Meanwhile, one of the songs, “Daavudi“, is missing from the film. Unconfirmed reports anticipate that the makers will include the song in the second half of the second week. However, there has been no official confirmation from the team.

Many Jr NTR fans were disappointed, as the song showcased the terrific dance moves of the actor, who is known for his grace.

It may be noted that the final runtime was seven minutes shorter than the initial runtime.

Two days before the release date, Devara: Part 1 received a U/A certificate from the censor board, and its final runtime has been cut to 2 hours and 50 minutes with statutory warnings, and 2 hours and 42 minutes without statutory warnings.

The runtime gave rise to speculations that a few scenes have been cut, as previously there have been reports that the runtime was 2 hours and 57 minutes.
