Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Not a Teaser released for SJ Suryah's birthday

The makers of Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram released a “Not a Teaser” from the film on Saturday, 20 July. The Not a Teaser was launched as a birthday gift of actor-director SJ Suryah, who plays the villain in the Telugu film.

Priyanka Mohan is the leading lady in the flick, where she portrays the role of a cop.

For the past three days, the makers and the lead actors have been teasing moviegoers and fans with a series of posts and short videos on “Teaser” and “No, it’s not a teaser”. The posts and the posters read, “Expected the unexpected. Run – He is coming on July 20th”, thus increasing the anticipation for Nani’s film.

The Not a Teaser of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram introduces SJ Suryah as the asura king “Narakasura”, who gets killed by Lord Krishna with the help of his wife Satyabhama. Nani and Priyanka Mohan are shown as Krishna and Satyabhama. Priyanka Mohan teamed up with Nani for the second time in this movie after their 2019 hit film Nani’s Gang Leader.

In the Saripodhaa Sanivaaram‘s Not a Teaser, Suryah appears as a ruthless police official, who doesn’t follow the rules but enjoys violence and bloodshed. The actor looks absolutely terrifying as the villainous cop who wreaks havoc in the city.

Well, this is not the first time he played a bad guy and looked quite effortless. Suryah was pretty convincing as an antagonist in Spyder (2017), Mersal (2017), Maanaadu (2021), Don (2022), and Mark Antony (2023).

He also proved his mettle as a protagonist in Kadamaiyai Sei (2022) and Jigarthanda Double X (2023). Indeed, his versatility won him the moniker “Nadippu Arakkan” (The Demon of Acting).

SJ Suryah recently appeared in Shankar’s Indian 2. He will next be seen in Indian 3, Dhanush’s Tamil film Raayan, and Ram Charan’s Game Changer. Further, he is also part of Karthi’s Sardar 2, which came to a halt after a stuntman fell to his death on the sets.

High expectations for the Nani-starrer

Expectations are running sky-high for the face-off scenes between Nani and SJ Suryah in Saripodhaa Sanivaaram since both actors are terrific performers. Nani’s Hindi dialogue in the teasers and the high-octane action sequences choreographed by Ram-Laxman and Real Satish further built anticipation for the flick.

The teasers launched earlier introduced Nani’s character as a person who vents his anger and outbursts on a particular day every week—Saturday. Given the extensive VFX work and lavish sets, this is believed to be the first big-budget film in Nani’s career, surpassing ₹90 crore.

Vivek Athreya is wielding the megaphone for this action entertainer. He collaborated with Nani earlier in 2022 on Ante Sundaraniki, a romantic comedy. It marked the debut of Malayalam actor Nazriya Nazim in Telugu.

DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari are producing Saripodhaa Sanivaaram under the banner DVV Entertainment. Jakes Bejoy is composing the music and background score. Murali G is the cinematographer and Karthika Srinivas R is the editor.

The film will hit the screens on 29 August in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
