As Sanjay Dutt celebrates his 65th birthday on Monday, 29 July, we’re seeing a flurry of updates about his upcoming films.
The Bollywood actor is joining Kannada star Dhruva Sarja in KD-The Devil.
The first look at his character, Dhak Deva, was revealed on social media to coincide with the special day.
Sharing the poster, Sanjay Dutt described his role as “The lord of devil’s democracy,” hinting that his character will bring a storm of intensity.
Regarding his role in KD-The Devil, Sanjay Dutt was all praise for director Prem’s vision.
He noted, “It’s a period action film and a pan-India project. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry.”
Director Prem praised Sanjay Dutt, highlighting his significant impact on the industry and the enduring popularity of his Munnabhai character.
He expressed excitement about having Dutt in KD-The Devil and considered working with him a privilege.
At the film’s launch, Sanjay Dutt said, “Following my experience with KGF 2 (2022), I aim to work in more South Indian films. The passion, love, and energy that South Indian filmmakers bring are phenomenal, and the heroism, quality, and content-driven nature of their cinema are truly remarkable.”
KD-The Devil is a period action film set in 1970s Bangalore, based on true events.
Presented by KVN Productions, the pan-India movie will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Apart from Dhruva Sarja, it features Shilpa Shetty, Reeshma Naniah, Jisshu Sengupta, Nora Fatehi, Ramesh Aravind, and Crazy Star V Ravichandran in key roles.
Further, the intense look of Sanjay Dutt as Big Bull in the Telugu film Double iSmart has also been revealed on 29 July. The Bollywood star recently completed dubbing his lines for the Hindi version.
Double iSmart is an official sequel to the 2019 movie iSmart Shankar, which also starred Ram Pothineni.

Directed by Puri Jagannadh, who co-produces with Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects, the film features Kavya Thapar in a prominent role.
The cinematography is by Sam K Naidu and Gianni Giannelli, while Kecha and Real Satish serve as stunt directors. Mani Sharma composes the music, marking his sixth collaboration with Puri Jagannadh.
Double iSmart is set for a theatrical release on 15 August, alongside Ravi Teja’s Mr Bachchan, and the slice-of-life drama 35 Chinna Katha Kaadu.
In addition to its Telugu release, Primeshow Entertainment will distribute Double iSmart in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The second single, “Maar Muntha Chhod Chinta,” released a few days ago, has already garnered over 8 million views on YouTube.
