Actor-politician Poonam Kaur has once again taken to social media to criticise renowned Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas. She previously made several allegations against the filmmaker.
In the recent development, Poonam Kaur reiterated her accusations against Trivikram Srinivas and raised questions about her being sidelined in the Telugu film industry.
Amidst the ongoing sexual harassment allegations against choreographer-Janasena leader Jani, Poonam Kaur’s comments gained wide attention. Reacting to Jani’s case, she tweeted, “Accused ‘shaik jani’ should not be called a master anymore. Have some respect for the word ‘Master’.”
Shortly after that, Poonam Kaur put up another tweet, claiming that she previously approached the Movie Artists Association (MAA) about the treatment she had received, only to be dismissed. Further, she questioned why MAA had not addressed her complaint against Trivikram Srinivas.
“Had maa association taken complaint on trivikram Srinivas, I and many wouldn’t have had the political suffering, I was rather silently ignored, I had given a call and then complaint to the heads, I want industry big wigs to question Director Trivikram,” Poonam Kaur’s latest tweet on X read.
She also urged that a committee similar to Kerala’s Justice Hema Committee be formed to investigate harassment cases within the Telugu film industry.

Poonam Kaur’s public feud with Trivikram Srinivas is not new. Their animosity persisted for years, with the actor-politician regularly accusing the director of wrongdoing.
She repeatedly alleged that he supports men’s egos and harms others’ careers. “I know what kind of person Trivikram is and his bad nature. He destroys the lives of others,” she said in an interview, recalling a personal confrontation with the filmmaker.
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Poonam Kaur appeared in several Telugu films. In 2019, the actor lodged a complaint with the cyber crime wing of Hyderabad police after the infamous #PawanLeaks made headlines. In the leaked audio clips, Poonam Kaur was heard talking about actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, Trivikram and a few female actors in Telugu cinema.
Poonam Kaur stated that the leaked audio clips affected her personal and professional life. “It’s sad that people have manipulated me and used me at a time when I was emotionally low,” she told TOI.
In 2023, Poonam Kaur drew the ire of Pawan Kalyan’s fans after she posted a cryptic tweet on the poster of the upcoming Telugu film Ustaad Bhagat Singh. In the tweet, she alleged that the poster insulted the revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh by placing the title near feet.
The Harish Shankar film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and stars Pawan Kalyan as the protagonist.
