Rajinikanth spotted in a police uniform for 'Vettaiyan'

Superstar Rajinikanth will next be seen in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan. The Tamil action-drama has been creating a buzz ever since it was announced.

In a leaked video that surfaced on X, the actor was spotted in a police uniform on the sets of Vettaiyan.

The video went viral on social media with Rajinikanth’s fans going ga-ga over his look as a police officer.

In the video, Rajinikanth steps out of an SUV wearing a police uniform, hinting that the Superstar might play a cop in the much-anticipated movie.

There are reports that the actor will portray the role of a retired police officer in it.

Interestingly, in his previous film Jailer (2023), Rajinikanth appeared as a retired jailer. He played a cop in Darbar (2020) and other films, too.

About Vettaiyan

Vettaiyan is Rajinikanth’s 170th film. It has a galaxy of actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier.

The makers unveiled the title teaser in December last year. In the teaser, Rajinikanth reads a book featuring the photo of Subhash Chandra Bose.

In another scene, he wields a lathi.

In the first-look poster of the film, released for Pongal, Rajinikanth appeared in two looks. In one look, he wears sunglasses and sports salt and pepper hairstyle. In the other, he wields a gun.

All these hinted that the flick would be an action entertainer. But nothing is known about his character and the film’s genre.

Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are acting together after 33 years. They were last seen in Mukul S Anand’s Hum (1991).

They already wrapped up a schedule for Vettaiyan in Mumbai.

The film will be released in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions.
